Popular Huntsville Indian restaurant announces closure
The restaurant will close after August 16, saying it is ending operations “for now” as its lease expires.

The Curry Modern Indian, a Huntsville restaurant known for its Indian cuisine and weekend buffet, will cease operations at its 607 Andrew Jackson Way location following brunch on Sunday, Aug. 16.
The restaurant announced the closure on Aug. 7 in a social media post, citing the expiration of its lease and the landlord’s decision to pursue other plans for the property. The Curry said it will cease operations “for now” following its final brunch service.

Since opening four years ago, The Curry has sought to offer Indian cuisine in a welcoming, community-oriented setting. During its time in Huntsville, the restaurant became a venue for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, family gatherings, celebrations, date nights and everyday meals.
In its closing announcement, The Curry expressed gratitude to the Huntsville community for its patronage and support, saying the restaurant had become more than a place to dine and had evolved into a gathering space for friends, families and community members.
The restaurant encouraged customers to visit before its closure and enjoy their favorite dishes while sharing memories with the staff.
“We wouldn't have made it through these four years without your patronage, encouragement, kind words, and the incredible love you have shown The Curry and every member of our team,” the restaurant said.
The Curry also thanked Huntsville residents for what it described as an “unforgettable four years,” adding that it had been a privilege to serve the community.
