Suhas Subramanyam wins Democratic primary for Virginia House seat
He will face Republican nominee Dave Beckwith in the election in November.

Indian American politician Suhas Subramanyam won the Democratic primary for Virginia's 10th Congressional District on Aug 4.
He will face Republican nominee Dave Beckwith in the election in November.

Following his victory, Subramanyam called for a Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, accusing Republicans of failing to hold President Donald Trump accountable and supporting policies that, he said, have raised costs for Americans and weakened the federal workforce.
"We need a change in Congress," Subramanyam said in a statement on X, adding that House Republicans had "refused to hold President Donald Trump accountable."
He also criticized Republican support for the administration's data center expansion plans and said Congress needed a majority that prioritized protecting communities over loyalty to the president.
Subramanyam said he looked forward to building a coalition of Virginians to "keep Virginia's 10th District blue" and help Democrats win seats across the commonwealth.
Indian American Impact, an advocacy organisation supporting Indian-American and South Asian candidates, congratulated Subramanyam on his nomination.
