When New York’s newest mayor, Zohran Mamdani, took the stage on Nov. 4 to deliver his victory speech, his campaign visuals had already won their own following. From street corners in Queens to social media feeds, his cobalt blue and marigold yellow branding had become instantly recognizable..
Behind that transformation were two Philadelphia-based designers: Aneesh Bhoopathy, an Indian-origin creative strategist, and his longtime collaborator, Phil Ditzler. Together, they run Forge, a small design co-op known for its bold, character-driven work. Their partnership with Mamdani dates back to 2020, when Bhoopathy designed his campaign for the New York State Assembly.
