Alabama-based tool company Sonic has appointed Indian American automotive industry veteran Sanjay Patel as chief commercial officer.
The company said Patel brings more than 30 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket sector, spanning sales, operations, and strategic leadership. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of Sonic’s distribution network and focus on expanding product accessibility and strengthening strategic partnerships.

Patel most recently served as senior vice president of marketing and merchandising at Integrated Supply Network (ISN), where he led product management, pricing, private brands, and supplier relations. His prior experience includes leadership roles at Advance Auto Parts/Carquest, Pep Boys, XL Parts, and Genuine Parts Company (NAPA).
At Advance Auto Parts, Patel served as president of Carquest North America, overseeing large-scale operations and leading strategies aimed at market growth and operational efficiency. Earlier, he managed sales operations across hundreds of locations and led commercial teams to expand market share.
Before ISN, Patel held a vice president of sales role at TBC Corporation and also served as regional director of Commercial Sales and Operations at Icahn Automotive.

Patel began his career as a technical support manager at Dinan Engineering and later served as a parts and service director at General Motors, overseeing multiple locations in California.
He holds an Executive MBA in Business Management from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, studied engineering at San José State University, and earned an associate degree in automotive studies from Sequoia Institute of Technology.
