Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Punjab’s minister of NRI affairs, organised the 6th online meeting with non-residential Indians (NRIs) from across the world on May 31, 2025.
The attendees were presented with the opportunity to raise complaints and issues directly with the minister for a speedy resolution to troubles faced by the diaspora.
The meeting witnessed over 120 complaints being registered, with the minister assuring speedy redressal to the issues.
The Punjab government has set up a complaints portal within the NRI department of the state where aggrieved individuals can file complaints every month. In the last six months, the department has received over 600 complaints and it claims that all complaints, except for those pending in courts, have been resolved. However, details for the same are not available.
