Weeklong celebrations to mark 19th anniversary of Hindu Mandir of Lake County
The temple will host a series of pujas, homams, cultural observances, and community gatherings from June 20 to June 28.

The Hindu Mandir of Lake County will celebrate its 19th anniversary with a multiple eligious ceremonies and community events from June 20 to June 28 in Grayslake.
The anniversary observances will include homams, pujas, parikrama, kumbha abhishekam, Sundarkand recitation, and community meals, bringing together devotees from across the Chicago metropolitan area.

The anniversary celebrations will begin on June 20 with a homam dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Shiva, Kartikeya, Bhairav, and Ayyappa, followed by Maha Prasaad. Additional ceremonies honoring various deities and Mahavidyas are scheduled for June 21.
The second weekend of celebrations will feature Ganesh Puja and Kalash Sthapana on June 26, a Chandi Homam on June 27, and concluding ceremonies on June 28, including Parikrama, Dhwajarohan, Sarv Devta Homam, Kumbha Abhishekam, Alankaram, Aarti, and Sundarkand.
Temple officials said the events are intended to promote spiritual well-being while celebrating nearly two decades of service to the Hindu community in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
Located on 22 acres in northern Illinois, the temple has served as a center for Hindu worship, culture, and community life since its construction in 2007. Temple leaders noted that before the permanent structure was built, devotees gathered for prayers in a mobile trailer on the property, sharing home-cooked meals and helping establish what would become one of the region's prominent Hindu institutions.
Today, the two-story temple houses shrines dedicated to deities including Lord Ganesha, Shiva and Parvati, Durga, Rama, Krishna, Hanuman, Kartikeya, Bhairav, and Ayyappa. A community hall on the lower level hosts cultural and social events throughout the year.
