New York-based software engineering and AI company Flatiron Software has appointed Indian-American technology executive Sanjay Bhakta to its board of directors.
Bhakta currently serves as chief product and technology officer at Condé Nast and brings more than two decades of experience leading large-scale technology transformations across media and technology organizations.

Bhakta said he views the appointment as an opportunity to contribute to the company’s next phase as organizations increasingly adopt AI-led technology strategies. The company has built a strong foundation for helping organizations navigate AI-driven transformation, and I look forward to contributing my experience to accelerate that impact."
Flatiron described the board appointment as part of its effort to strengthen leadership as it scales operations. The company said it focuses on delivering scalable technology solutions for enterprises seeking reliable engineering and consulting capabilities.
At Condé Nast, Bhakta oversees global technology and product strategy, including product management, UX design, and engineering. His work has included centralizing IT operations, building offshore capabilities such as the Condé Nast Technology Lab in India, and supporting the company’s transition toward a digital-first operating model.
Before joining Condé Nast, Bhakta served as senior vice president of global platform and product engineering at Pearson. Earlier, he spent three years at HBO as vice president of media software engineering. His career also includes technology leadership roles at AT&T, where he managed complex technology operations.
Bhakta earned his electronics and communication engineering degree from the University of Mysore in India and later completed an MBA in corporate finance and strategy from Columbia Business School.
