Indian American actor Kal Penn urged students to foster coalition building across communities while avoiding cynicism amid current geopolitical and domestic events.
Speaking at the California Polytechnic State University’s 24th annual Change the Status Quo keynote event, Penn said, “What’s worked in the past is coalition-building, people showing up for each other. The first time we show up for other communities can’t be when they come after us.”
