California-based digital engineering company Impetus Technologies on Nov. 20 appointed Nachiket Deshpande as its new chief executive officer.

The move signals a leadership shift aimed at strengthening the company’s position in data engineering, analytics, and emerging AI technologies, a release stated.

Deshpande brings more than three decades of technology leadership, delivery leadership, and AI-driven enterprise transformation at organizations including Cognizant and LTIMindtree, where he led its AI business and introduced BlueVerse, a packaged Agentic AI solution.

As the president at LTIMindtree, he oversaw global delivery, operations, and large transformation programs. His earlier two-decade tenure at Cognizant included senior roles across AI, data, cloud, and banking and financial services.

“Nachiket’s global experience and leadership in building AI-led organizations make him the ideal steward for our next chapter,” founders Praveen Kankariya and Ritu Bapna said.
Deshpande said he was energized by the company’s approach and long-standing focus on software-driven services. “Impetus is a rare services organization that has a software-led approach,” he said.

“What excites me most is the opportunity ahead: helping enterprises harness the power of AI to not only boost productivity but also to reimagine their business processes and workflows as they evolve into agentic enterprises.”

Investor representatives at Kedaara Capital welcomed the move, noting the company’s position in a rapidly evolving market. “Impetus is at an important inflection point, and Nachiket’s experience in scaling technology businesses makes him a strong addition to the organization,” said Sunish Sharma and Saakshi Gera.

“We look forward to partnering with him to support Impetus’ ambition of becoming the preferred partner for enterprise data and AI transformation.”

Deshpande holds a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from the College of Engineering Pune (COEP Technological University), one of India's premier engineering institutions.

The leadership change comes as Impetus aims to deepen its collaborations with global enterprises and expand its role in GenAI-led digital transformation, backed by its established engineering capabilities and strategic technology partnerships.
