White House Blames Biden for the war in Ukraine

Leavitt framed the conflict as the culmination of Democratic administrations' mishandling of Russia.

Placing responsibility for the ongoing Russia–Ukraine war squarely on former President Joe Biden, the White House on Aug.19 slammed him for weakness and incompetence that “foolishly allowed the killing to start.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the war would not have broken out had Donald Trump been in office. “Until President Trump returned to office in January, the bloody and broken Biden status quo was to endlessly force American taxpayers to fund Ukraine no matter the cost, no matter how long it takes and no matter how many lives were lost,” she charged.
