Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan shed light on life and the realities of growing old in his personal blog, describing the inevitable defeat of youth.

The now 82-year-old industry legend, widely regarded as one of the greatest actors in Indian cinema, is known for his iconic "angry young man" roles in films like Zanjeer and Deewar. His career spans over five decades with over 200 films, earning him numerous accolades, including six National Film Awards and 16 Filmfare Awards.

Bachchan opened up on Aug. 17 on his blog talking about the love he continues to receive from his fans. Fans who, even today, gather in front of his home every Sunday evening, hoping to catch a glimpse of the yesteryears' superstar.

Talking about his daily routines, Bachchan lapsed into the routine of medicines that have marred his daily schedule.

He went on to describe his routine of mobility exercises and Yoga sessions, all in the hopes of keeping his body active. He laments that one would hope that things they used to do would come naturally to them but alas...Bacchan said with a laughing emoji, "NAH .. no baby ..Just one day's absence and the pains and the mobility goes for a very long walk."

The action hero who, decades ago, thrashed Gabbar Singh and his henchmen in the hit film, 'Sholay', now notes that even the simplest of tasks now require care and attention.

Bachchan said, "simple acts .. putting on the trousers .. the doctors advise please Mr Bachchan, sit down and wear them .. do not try to stand while you put them on , you could lose balance and fall .."

He further said, "And inside I sort of smile in disbelief .. until I find they were so right .. that simple act that came so naturally earlier is now governed by a selective routine".

He also talked about needing handle bars for basic movements, he notes, "Oh boy .. !!!! you need them all over to hold and steady thy body before any physical act .. just the simplest of them being bending down to pick up that piece of paper that had flown off your desk with the breeze .."

He adds, "The bravado tells you to go ahead .. until you realise .. goodness , it's a major problem .. the rapidity of its performance has slowed down with uncertainty."

Bachchan ended his day's train-of-thought on a more philosophical note. He points at the inevitability of old age and points out that it is a battle all human beings are destined to lose.

He notes, "Youth races through life's challenges with aplomb .. Age .. suddenly speed brakes your vehicle and tells you, apply the brakes to avoid the accelerated bump when you drive the vehicle of LIFE .."

"You may have the courage to fight it for a while .. but eventually, sadly, we shall all lose ..," said Big B.
