The San Francisco Unicorns defeated Washington Freedom by eight wickets in the final match of the Oakland leg of Major League Cricket, chasing down 191 with 29 balls to spare.

Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Finn Allen set up the victory with a 102-run opening partnership in 5.4 overs, helping the Unicorns reach 193 for 2 in 15.1 overs.

Washington Freedom, after choosing to bat, posted 190 for 4 in 20 overs. Andries Gous remained unbeaten on 83 off 50 balls, anchoring the innings after Steven Smith was bowled by Haris Rauf for 3. Mitchell Owen contributed 39 from 20 deliveries, while Nikhil Chaudhary added 32 off 19 balls.

Ghulam Mudassar was the most economical Unicorns bowler with figures of 1 for 29 in four overs. Matthew Short claimed 1 for 12, while Brody Couch finished with 1 for 28.

The Unicorns made a fast start to the chase as Pretorius and Allen dominated the powerplay. Pretorius scored 66 off 26 balls and reached his half-century in 16 deliveries, equaling the Major League Cricket record for the fastest fifty, previously set by Nicholas Pooran. Allen struck 45 off 18 balls, including four fours and four sixes.

Allen was dismissed in the sixth over, while Pretorius departed two overs later, but the early partnership had reduced the target to a manageable chase.

Matthew Short remained unbeaten on 34, and Aaron Hardie finished 42 not out off 22 balls as the pair guided the Unicorns to the target without further difficulty.

Nikhil Chaudhary was the most successful Washington Freedom bowler during the chase, taking 1 for 29 in four overs.

The victory gave the San Francisco Unicorns another win in the tournament as they concluded the Oakland leg, while Washington Freedom fell short despite Gous' unbeaten half-century and a total of 190.
