Set in the year 2050, the story follows four students from Vancouver’s Aqli Academy—Abdullah, Aysha, Khalid and Layla—who discover the ability to time travel.

Their journey takes them along the historic Silk Road, where they attempt to protect major scientific figures of the era from a time-traveling alchemist named Fasid and preserve the foundations of modern science before returning home.

The film draws on the period often referred to as the “Golden Age of Islam” and highlights the contributions of Muslim scholars to fields including mathematics, optics and astronomy, as well as to science, education and the arts.

Historical figures referenced in the film include Al-Khwarizmi, regarded as the father of algebra; Ibn al-Haytham, a pioneer in optics; Maryam al-Astrolabi, an astronomer; and Mansa Musa, a patron of science, education and the arts.

Produced by Milo Productions Inc., the Canadian company behind Muslim Kids TV, the film is adapted from the Time Hoppers mobile game and an upcoming animated series scheduled to debut on Muslim Kids TV later in 2026.

Muslim Kids TV is described by the company as the world’s first and largest streaming platform for Muslim children. The project is aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 9.

The production brings together a team of Muslim artists, educators and storytellers and places Black and Brown characters in central roles. The voice cast includes Omar Suleiman, Dalia Mogahed and actor and comedian Omar Regan.

The two-day engagement will be handled by Fathom Entertainment, with tickets now available at participating theaters.  The screenings will also include behind-the-scenes footage about the making of the project.
