The Harvard South Asian Association (SAA) has named Bollywood actress Sayani Gupta its Person of the Year 2026.
The actress best known for her role in Prime Video’s Four More Shots Please, was recognized for her contribution to storytelling and her growing global cultural impact.

In an announcement on social media, the association said, “We’re proud to honor @sayanigupta as Harvard SAA’s Person of the Year, celebrating her fearless performances and commitment to authentic storytelling that elevates South Asian voices on a global stage. Join us in celebrating her at Andaaz.”
Apart from Four More Shots Please, Gupta has played notable roles in Margarita with a Straw, Article 15, Inside Edge, and Delhi Crime, with her performances often engaging with themes of identity, gender, and social change.
The recognition comes alongside a new phase in Gupta’s career, as she makes her debut as a writer-director with the short film Aasmani, scheduled to premiere at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival on April 25, followed by a screening at the Indie Meme Film Festival on April 26.
She will be felicitated at Harvard University later this month as part of the association’s annual cultural event, Andaaz.
An alumna of the Film and Television Institute of India, Gupta has built a body of work across film, theatre, and streaming platforms, and is regarded for taking on roles that foreground complex, contemporary narratives and underrepresented voices.
