National Institutes of Health Director Jay Bhattacharya on April 18 called an NIH-supported clinical trial a “major win” after it showed that a low-cost, team-based care model can significantly reduce high blood pressure in high-risk patients.
“Major win in the fight against chronic disease. A simple, team-based care model significantly reduced high blood pressure in high-risk patients,” Bhattacharya said in a post on X, adding that the approach led to “big drops in blood pressure – fewer heart attacks, fewer strokes, and healthier American lives.”
