Indian American Congressman Suhas Subramanyam has rejected claims that H-1B visa holders take jobs from Americans, arguing that many immigrants establish companies and create employment in the United States.
"This is not a zero-sum game," Subramanyam, who represents Virginia's 10th Congressional District, told IANS in an interview.

How did this person become a representative in Virginia? No wonder the state is so messed up. I lived there for 40 years in Faifax County and fled to Florida because of the far-left policies these politicians put forth. The 10th District, which covers the suburbs of Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun counties, has become a left-wing stronghold.
The H-1B visa doesn’t need reform; it needs to be abolished. When people come from other countries for jobs under this program, they often work for heavily discounted rates compared to what regular U.S. citizens make for similar roles. The H-1B is a temporary work visa, and we do not have a shortage of qualified personnel in the U.S. It was created by companies looking to employ overseas workers simply to boost their bottom line.
Furthermore, in fields like IT, many positions require security clearance, which is a major hurdle for H-1B holders. If these workers want to become citizens, they should return to their home countries, apply for alien status, and go through the proper immigration process. Representatives like this one want to bypass that process instead of upholding the law they swore an oath to protect. But what does an oath even mean to them? Once someone becomes a government official, that promise seems to go out the window. If we keep electing fools like this, the next 250 years will be a complete disaster. Now that they have elected a communist governor, the state is headed for a major disaster within our capitalistic society.
