Video Game Based on Muslim Scientific Artifacts will launch worldwide March 20, 2026, across multiple gaming platforms, according to an announcement by Unity Productions Foundation.
Washington, D.C.-based Unity Productions Foundation said its new title, 'VANISHED: Puzzle Quest', is a first-person puzzle adventure inspired by scientific developments during the Islamic Golden Age. The game will be available on iOS, Android, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Players travel through nine historic centers of learning, including Samarkand, Baghdad, Damascus, Cairo and Timbuktu. The game challenges players to solve puzzles and interpret historical artifacts linked to fields such as astronomy, optics, engineering, mathematics and mechanics.

The gameplay features digital recreations of historical instruments, including astrolabes, celestial spheres, water clocks and other mechanical devices. Players must use these tools to solve puzzles, navigate challenges and recover lost knowledge.
The release is scheduled to coincide with Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. A companion website, vanished.game, will provide educational resources and additional information about the project.
The game was developed in partnership with Saltium Games, an international studio based in Munich and Bosnia. The development team includes Muslim designers and developers who contributed to the game’s historical and cultural elements.
Alex Kronemer, executive producer at Unity Productions Foundation, said, “We set out to build a game that is not only fun to play, but intellectually meaningful — an experience that lets players interact with the very tools that helped build modern science, crafted by a team that understands this heritage from within.”
Unity Productions Foundation, based in Washington, D.C., has produced films including 'The Sultan and the Saint, Prince Among Slaves and Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet.'
