Indian Kesar mangoes will arrive at select Costco stores across the Greater Seattle area beginning May 15, in the latest push to expand Indian fresh fruit exports in the United States.

According to the consulate, the mangoes will be stocked at Costco stores in Seattle, Kirkland, Issaquah, Woodinville, Lynnwood and Redmond.

Kesar mangoes, grown primarily in Gujarat in western India, are known for their deep orange pulp and sweet flavor profile. The variety received geographical indication status in India and is considered one of the country’s premium export mangoes.

The rollout follows the consulate’s Indian mango promotion event held on July 10, 2025, which showcased multiple Indian mango varieties to importers, retailers and community members in the Pacific Northwest in partnership with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).

Earlier this year, Indian Bhagwa pomegranates entered the Greater Seattle retail market, with Maharashtra’s Bhagwa variety appearing at Costco stores in the region following a separate promotion initiative led by the consulate.

The consulate has been promoting Indian agricultural exports through outreach events involving exporters, retailers and trade officials as demand for Indian produce continues to grow among both the Indian diaspora and mainstream consumers in the United States.
