Michigan Technological University has appointed Indian-origin academic Manish Srivastava as associate dean of its College of Business, expanding his leadership role after nearly two decades at the institution.
Currently a professor of strategic management and innovation, Srivastava holds the David and Marilyn Bernard Endowed Professorship in Business. In his new role, he will work with dean Sri Beldona to advance the college's strategic priorities while overseeing graduate, certificate and noncredit programs. His responsibilities will also include academic policy, accreditation readiness and other key areas of academic administration.
Srivastava said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve the college in an expanded capacity and looked forward to working with faculty, staff and students to support its continued growth and success.
“I look forward to working with Dean Beldona and our faculty, staff, and students to contribute to its continued growth and success,” Srivastava said in a statement.

Announcing the appointment, Beldona described Srivastava as a respected leader whose institutional knowledge and commitment to academic excellence have made a lasting impact on the college.
“I look forward to working closely with him as we build on our strong foundation, expand opportunities for our students, strengthen our graduate and professional programs, and advance the College’s strategic priorities through collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose,” Beldona said.
Since 2019, Srivastava has served as associate director of the Tech MBA and Master of Engineering Management programs. During that time, he led the development of accelerated graduate degree options, expanded online learning opportunities and contributed to student recruitment, curriculum development, assessment and accreditation efforts.
His leadership has also included chairing the College of Business Strategic Planning Committee, where he has worked with faculty and administrators to align institutional priorities and support ongoing accreditation initiatives.
An expert in strategic management and technological innovation, Srivastava has published research in leading academic journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal and Journal of Management. He has also held visiting academic positions at Virginia Tech, Umeå University in Sweden and the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.
Srivastava earned his doctorate in strategic management from Virginia Tech, an MBA from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur.
