The India-US Forum of Monroe Township (IFM) celebrated International Day of Yoga 2026 with a community wellness event focused on this year's theme, "Yoga for Healthy Aging," bringing together residents of all ages at the Monroe Township Senior Center.
The two-hour program drew participants from across New Jersey, including students, working professionals and senior citizens, and focused on promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being through yoga.

Organizers said the event aimed to demonstrate how simple, mindful practices can support healthier and more fulfilling lives at every stage of life. The session featured age-friendly yoga techniques designed to improve balance, flexibility, breathing capacity and overall vitality.
The program included gentle movement exercises, pranayama, meditation and guided relaxation. The practices were designed by IFM patron and certified yoga instructor Nidhi Pandya and were tailored to be accessible to participants of all experience levels.
Participants shared positive feedback following the session, citing feelings of calm, renewed energy and a greater sense of connection. Many also welcomed the focus on preventive health and the importance of cultivating daily habits that contribute to healthier aging.
The event concluded with remarks from IFM president Hemant Patel and members of the organization's executive team, who thanked volunteers and community partners for their support.
