Organizations across the South Asian diasporic community in Atlanta will hold a conversation about solidarity / Sikh Coalition
Advocacy groups and community-based organizations that work toward the realization of civil and human rights will hold a talk on the rise in racism and xenophobia in the US on Dec. 13 in Norcross, Georgia.
Organizations across the South Asian diasporic community in Atlanta will hold a conversation about solidarity in the face of racism, xenophobia, and other biases that have significantly surged in 2025.
Sikh Coalition, along with Hindus for Human Rights, Jai Bhim Atlanta, Asian Americans Advancing Justice and Indian American Muslim Council, will be hosting the event.
Attacks on Muslims and Latin American communities, and deportation and denaturalization of Indian and other South Asian American communities will be among the key topics discussed. The event welcomes local sangat and allies.
In the past months, Indian and other South Asian Americans have been facing several social issues under the Trump administration, and the Sikh Coalition has been vocal about the new immigration stances and discrimination faced by the diaspora in the US.
Earlier this month, the Sikh Coalition reached out to the California DMV about the cancellation of 17,000 commercial drivers’ licenses, which has majorly affected truck drivers in the US.
