Vivek Ramaswamy wins Ohio primary
Ramaswamy will now face Democrat Amy Acton in November.

Armed with a “complete and total endorsement” from Donald Trump, Indian American Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy won the Ohio Republican primary on May 5.
In a largely one-sided race, Ramaswamy bested Republican rival Casey Putsch, an Ohio-based business owner. Ramaswamy won more than 80 percent of the vote in the election and sealed a thumping victory to cement the Republican nomination for his gubernatorial ambitions.
The Ohio Republican Party announced its endorsement soon after the results were confirmed and said on X, “We’ll see you in November.”

During a victory speech, Ramaswamy thanked Ohio voters “for getting us to this point,” adding, “The real destination is in November.”

The most significant pat on the back came from U.S. President Donald Trump, who took to Truth Social to share the news of Ramaswamy’s win and reiterate his backing for his former presidential election rival.
Hours before the election results were announced, Trump vouched for Ramaswamy, saying, “HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
Describing Ramaswamy as “something SPECIAL,” Trump said, “Vivek is also a very good person, who truly loves our Country.”
He continued, “As your next Governor, Vivek will fight tirelessly to Grow the Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Champion American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Advance Election Integrity, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment.”
Responding to the president’s post, Ramaswamy said on X, “Thank you, Mr. President! It’s time to make Ohio greater than ever.”

Ramaswamy will now face Democrat Amy Acton, the Democratic candidate in the upcoming Nov. 3 election.
This competition will be an uphill battle for Ramaswamy, according to a recent poll prediction by InteractivePolls. The poll predicted Ramaswamy and Acton going neck and neck, with Ramaswamy polling at 48 percent and Acton trailing with 47 percent. InteractivePolls had also predicted smooth sailing for Ramaswamy in the primary.
