Ohio began celebrating its first official Hindu Heritage Month this week, becoming the first state in the United States to enshrine the commemoration into law, after a measure introduced by former State Senator Niraj Antani was adopted in 2024.
Antani called the recognition “a historic moment” for the state’s Indian American community on Oct.1.
