OFBJP-USA marks election victory in NJ
Indian American community leaders and BJP supporters gathered in Edison to celebrate the party’s electoral gains in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry.

The Overseas Friends of BJP USA (OFBJP-USA) hosted a victory celebration in Edison, New Jersey, to mark the Bharatiya Janata Party’s electoral victories in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry.
Held at the Royal Albert Palace, the event drew more than 600 members of the Indian American community, according to organizers. The celebration was conducted under the guidance of OFBJP-USA president Adapa Prasad.

Organizers described the gathering as a celebration of what they called a “historic” moment for the BJP, highlighting the party’s electoral gains in eastern and northeastern India. Community leaders addressed attendees and expressed appreciation for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP president Nitin Nabin.
The ballroom remained packed throughout the evening as attendees from across the tri-state area participated in speeches, election discussions, and cultural celebrations.
Vasudev Patel, general secretary of OFBJP-USA, credited BJP workers and volunteers for years of grassroots work leading up to the election results.
Member of Parliament Mayank Nayak also addressed attendees virtually and praised the BJP leadership, according to organizers.
Several Indian American community leaders and volunteers attended the event, including Sudhir Parikh, Krishna Reddy Anugula, Albert Jasani, and Mukund Thakar.
The celebration highlighted the BJP’s breakthrough performance in West Bengal, where the party expanded its political presence in a state historically dominated by regional and Left parties.
Organizers also pointed to the BJP-led NDA’s return to power in Assam under the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma, a result viewed by political observers as strengthening the party’s position in the Northeast.
In Puducherry, the NDA alliance secured a majority in the Union Territory assembly elections, enabling the coalition led by the All India N.R. Congress and BJP to form the government.
