Indian origin doctor arrested in Milpitas for alleged sexual assault

Milpitas police arrested Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, a 68-year-old Indian origin resident of San Jose, on Sept. 24, 2025, in connection with a sexual battery case. He was taken into custody at his office in Milpitas and later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
The arrest follows a complaint filed on Sept. 16, 2025. According to the Milpitas Police Department, a female patient reported that Dr. Agarwal had inappropriately touched her during a consultation. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau investigated the accusation and determined that inappropriate contact had occurred.
The department stated, “On September 24, 2025, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested Dr. Agarwal at his office in Milpitas. He was later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for sexual battery.”

Authorities are seeking further information related to the case. “Anyone with information about this investigation or who believes they may have been a victim of Dr. Agarwal is asked to contact Milpitas Police Department detectives at (408) 586-2400,” the release said.
Police also noted that tips can be shared anonymously through the Crime Tip Hotline at (408) 586-2500 or via the Milpitas Police Department website.
The case has been assigned to Officer Michelle Sanchez, who is serving as the media contact.
