First Punjabi Sikh team joins 'The Amazing Race US' season 38
Jag and Jas Bains will compete in the 'Big Brother'-themed season of the CBS show.

Jag Bains and his brother, Jasmair “Jas” Bains, have become the first Punjabi Sikh team to join the U.S. version of ‘The Amazing Race’. The siblings will compete in season 38 of the CBS reality show, which premiered on Sept. 25, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET and will also stream on Paramount+.
Jag Bains, who won 'Big Brother' in 2023, is returning to the network with Jas as his teammate. The two live in Los Angeles and said they see their participation as an opportunity to represent their community while pursuing the competition’s grand prize.
“We’re attached at the hip,” Jag told The Seattle Times. The brothers live together, share work in real estate and travel businesses, and train together regularly. They said their preparation for the race began as soon as they received the casting call.
Season 38 will feature a 'Big Brother'-themed lineup, with several former houseguests competing. Jag noted that this creates a different dynamic compared to earlier seasons of ‘The Amazing Race’. “In Big Brother everyone starts as strangers, but here many already know each other from the fan community,” he said. According to him, that familiarity could lead to both alliances and rivalries shaping the competition.
Their casting has drawn attention online for its cultural significance. Many fans have welcomed the brothers’ presence as a visible milestone for Punjabi Sikhs on mainstream American television. Reactions on social media included calls for greater representation and messages of support from community groups.
Interestingly, another Sikh duo had featured in the Australia version of The Amazing Race in 2021. Jaskirat Singh and Anurag Singh had teamed up as 'Super Sikhs'.

Season 38 of ‘The Amazing Race’ will air weekly on CBS, with episodes available for streaming on Paramount+.
