Gaur serves as the Anne and Elmer Lindseth Dean and professor of operations, technology and information management at Cornell's Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. In his new role, he will help guide GMAC's efforts to strengthen graduate management education and support business schools worldwide amid changing student expectations and workforce demands.
"Our new board members bring deep leadership experience and a strong understanding of the evolving education and talent landscape, and their guidance will help shape GMAC's next chapter as we strive to broaden the pipeline of business talent for schools and employers around the world,” GMAC CEO Joy Jones said in a statement.
Before becoming dean, Gaur served as Cornell's associate dean for MBA programs, where he launched the Digital Technology Immersion, an interdisciplinary initiative that equips students with coding, database and advanced analytics skills. He also founded and directed the online Master of Science in Business Analytics program offered through eCornell for working professionals.
A leading scholar in supply chain management, e-commerce and retail operations, Gaur's research focuses on using large-scale data to improve forecasting and business decision-making. His work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the 2024 Distinguished Fellow designation from the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society of INFORMS and multiple teaching awards at Cornell.
Originally from India, Gaur earned a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a doctorate from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
