The Wharton AI & Analytics Initiative has appointed Manish Varma as an Executive in Residence, a role reserved for industry leaders who bridge academia and global business with vision and impact.
Varma is a distinguished global technology leader renowned for driving transformative AI and digital strategies in the life sciences industry. His efforts have consistently sparked AI-powered innovation, delivering lasting value to organizations.
Varma's new role demands collaboration with Wharton faculty on AI thought leadership. He will also mentor students, sharing lessons from his decades of global experience, speak at flagship events to inspire future innovators and judge pivotal AI competitions shaping the future of business.
Varma was born in Bihar and studied at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur before obtaining an MBA from the Wharton School.
He is currently serving as the Global Vice President and Enterprise Head - ERP & Digital for London based Pharmaceutical company, GSK. He has also served as the CEO of AI powered software company Mareana before joining GSK.
Celebrating his journey from Patna to IIT Kanpur, Wharton, and now global boardrooms, Alok Kumar, Chairman of Bihar Foundation USA, said, "This is wonderful news for the Indian American community.
