IANT marks America250 celebration in Frisco

The India Association of North Texas hosted an AMERICA250 community celebration on June 27 at Frisco Flyers in Frisco, Texas, bringing together veterans, city officials, community leaders, families and youth to mark the upcoming 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.

The event focused on patriotism, civic engagement and community participation while recognizing the contributions of immigrant communities in North Texas. According to organizers, the program aimed to celebrate American values while reflecting the region's cultural diversity.

The celebration began with a ceremonial parade, followed by a recognition ceremony honoring military veterans. Veterans also addressed attendees, speaking about their military service, sacrifice and the meaning of freedom in the United States.

City officials and other dignitaries participated in the program and highlighted the importance of community engagement and the role immigrant communities have played in the country's development.

The event also included activities for children designed to encourage participation in civic life and provide a family-oriented environment. Vendor booths representing local businesses and nonprofit organizations offered community resources, services and cultural displays.

Cultural performances were held throughout the event, showcasing the diversity of the Indian American community while recognizing the broader American identity. Organizers said the performances were intended to reflect both cultural heritage and national unity.

The program concluded with networking opportunities for community organizations and attendees from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, providing a forum for collaboration and community interaction.
