Finzly promotes Dharmesh Patel as chief customer officer

Patel, who has led customer success for its FX business, will now unify client experience across products as Finzly scales operations

Charlotte-based software company Finzly promoted Indian origin executive Dharmesh Patel to the newly created role of chief customer officer.

In the role, Patel will oversee all customer-facing operations, including professional services, production support and account management, the company said in a statement on May 5.

Patel, who has been with Finzly for more than six years, most recently served as senior vice president and head of customer success for its foreign exchange business. 

The company said he played a role in strengthening relationships across its BankOS customer base and building processes around release and change management.

The appointment comes as Finzly expands into new markets and adds institutional clients, prompting a push to standardize and scale customer experience.

“Dharmesh has spent years building trust with our customers and earning a deep understanding of what they need to succeed,” said Booshan Rengachari, founder and chief executive officer of Finzly. 

“As we enter a phase of accelerated growth and scale, putting someone with his experience and discipline at the center of our customer operations raises the bar on everything our customers experience, from onboarding through to ongoing support,” he added.

Patel will report directly to Rengachari and join the company’s executive committee. Finzly said it is also expanding its relationship management team to strengthen engagement with clients.

“Over the past six years, I’ve had the chance to get to know our customers individually and the broader pressures they’re navigating as financial institutions,” Patel said. “That’s what I’m most excited to build on in this role. When you understand someone’s business at that level, you can show up for them in a completely different way.”

Before joining Finzly, Patel held roles at BGC Partners and GFI Group, working across account management and commercial leadership for Fenics software in the Americas. He holds a bachelor’s degree in financial services from University of Sheffield.
