U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said it arrested multiple foreign nationals over the weekend, including two Indian nationals previously convicted of criminal offenses in separate U.S. jurisdictions.

According to the agency, Hemant Khann-Kumar, identified as an Indian national, had been convicted in Contra Costa County, California, for an attempted lewd act upon a child.

In a separate case, Rinkeshkumar Kaushikbhai Patel, also identified as an Indian national, had been convicted in Bradley County, Tennessee, for conspiracy to commit theft exceeding $60,000.

The arrests were part of a broader enforcement action by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement targeting individuals described by the agency as having prior convictions, including violent and sexual offenses.

ICE said those taken into custody over the weekend included individuals convicted of crimes such as manslaughter with intent to cause serious physical injury, sexual battery, and criminal sexual conduct involving minors.

In a statement, Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said the agency’s operations were ongoing. “Under President Donald Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE never takes a day off,” Bis said. “This weekend, ICE arrested numerous murderers, pedophiles, sex criminals, violent assailants, drug traffickers, and fraudsters.”

ICE did not provide additional details on the current immigration status of the individuals or the timeline of their arrests beyond stating that the operations took place over the weekend.
