CaratLane, a Tata Group-backed omnichannel jewelry retailer, made its debut at New York Fashion Week on Feb. 17, becoming one of the few Indian jewelry brands to stage a runway showcase at the global fashion event.

The showcase, held at Chelsea Piers, marked CaratLane’s first international runway appearance and featured eight looks drawn from the brand’s collections. All jewelry presented on the runway used natural diamonds.

The collections showcased included Polki, Sol, Sandook, Eternity, Butterfly, and Peepal. Polki focused on uncut diamond designs rooted in traditional Indian jewelry, while Sol featured citrine-accented pieces inspired by sunrise motifs.

Sandook drew on heritage elements such as marigolds and jharokhas, while Eternity highlighted classic silhouettes using brilliant-cut diamonds. The Butterfly and Peepal collections incorporated blue enamel detailing and green alpanites set in yellow gold.

Six international models walked the runway, alongside Indian fashion influencers Pooja Mundhra and Anahita Bhooshan.

Saumen Bhaumik, managing director of CaratLane, said the New York Fashion Week appearance reflected the brand’s growing international ambitions.

“Our debut at New York Fashion Week was a defining milestone, proving that Indian craftsmanship resonates powerfully on the global stage,” Bhaumik said. He added that the company plans to expand its U.S. retail presence, including the opening of a second store in Texas.

Founded in 2008, CaratLane operates as an omnichannel jewelry retailer backed by the Tata Group through Titan Company. The brand has more than 300 stores across India and has positioned itself around design-led, lightweight fine jewelry aimed at everyday wear.

CaratLane entered the U.S. retail market in 2024 with its first store in New Jersey. The New York Fashion Week showcase comes as the company seeks to build brand recognition in the United States and align itself with global fine jewelry labels through international fashion platforms.
