The Akshaya Patra Foundation USA will host its 2025 Chicago Gala on Oct. 5 at the Chicago Marriott in Oak Brook.
The event aims to raise awareness and support for the foundation’s mission to eliminate hunger and promote education for children in need.

The evening will feature a keynote address by business strategist Rishad Tobaccowala, along with a comedy performance by Ojas Rawal and entertainment by Rex Dsouza and Kosha Pandya.
The Chicago chapter is chaired by Sanjay Garodia, Saroj Patel, Pankaj Parikh, and Sridevi Kurella, with advisors Dipak Doshi and Dipak Kapadia.
Founded in 2000 in Bengaluru, India, the Akshaya Patra Foundation operates the world’s largest NGO-run school meal program in partnership with central and state governments.
It implements the PM POSHAN (formerly Mid-Day Meal) scheme in government and government-aided schools, currently serving more than 2.3 million children daily across 78 locations in 16 states and 3 union territories. The Foundation has cumulatively served over 4 billion meals and aims to reach 3 million children each day.
Akshaya Patra USA functions as the fundraising arm of the Foundation, enabling contributions through its U.S. 501(c)(3) status. Events such as the Chicago Gala are part of its annual outreach to mobilize support from the diaspora and philanthropic community.
