Somerset mayor unveils poster of Hinglish comedy 'Brilliant Idea'
The film features over 55 cast and crew members from New Jersey.

The mayor of Somerset, Phil Kramer, unveiled the poster of the upcoming American bilingual comedy film Brilliant Idea at a community event Sept. 20.
The launch at Pooja Exotic Indian Cuisine was attended by filmmakers, artists, and community leaders, highlighting a push to expand filmmaking opportunities in New Jersey.
The film features Ricky and J.S. King in lead roles, with music composed by Chander Mohan. The title track is sung by Bollywood playback legend Kumar Sanu, with lyrics by Rajesh Prasher.

The project is being spearheaded by two local production companies—New Jersey Bollywood Star Production LLC and Parasher Brothers Entertainment LLC.
The first project under this collaboration, Brilliant Idea, is directed by Bollywood filmmaker Rabinder Parasher, known for his work alongside Mahesh Bhatt. Shot in both Hindi and English, the film wrapped production in Feb 2025, with over 55 cast and crew members from New Jersey involved. A worldwide theatrical release is planned later this year, beginning with a premiere in New Jersey.

“This project is not just about making films—it is about making New Jersey a hub of creativity, culture, and opportunity,” Mayor Kramer said at the unveiling.

As part of their commitment, the producers plan to establish a dedicated film studio in New Jersey to cover all stages of production, from pre-production through distribution. They have pledged to produce at least one feature film annually, aiming to create sustainable work for local talent.
Community leaders, including Pradip (Peter) Kothari and Sunil Hali, community leader and owner/publisher of Indian Eyes and Radio Zindagi, have expressed support for the initiative.
