Arjit Singh, an Indian origin student at Johns Hopkins University, has been named a recipient of the SBB Research Group Foundation STEM Scholarship. The award, valued at $2,500, supports students pursuing interdisciplinary work in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Singh, a sophomore majoring in neuroscience, conducts research at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he focuses on improving surgical outcomes for brain tumor patients. Alongside his academic work, he volunteers as a Child Life Volunteer, providing support to children and families during hospital stays.
“Arjit is already so committed to his community and the well-being of patients,” said Matt Aven, co-founder and board member of the SBB Research Group Foundation. “We are excited to see what he does as he continues in his studies.”
The SBB Research Group Foundation, a nonprofit affiliated with the Chicago-based investment management firm SBB Research Group LLC, provides scholarships and grants to encourage research and education in STEM fields. Its programs are designed to help students and organizations develop long-term solutions to pressing challenges.
Singh is among the latest group of students recognized by the foundation for combining academic achievement with service to the community.
