A 51-year-old Indian-origin man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of his wife and three relatives at a home in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
The suspect, identified as Vijay Kumar of Atlanta, was accused of shooting the victims, Gourav Cumar, Nidhi Chander, and Harish Chander, following a domestic dispute with his wife, Meemu Dogra.

According to Gwinnett County Police, three children aged 7, 10, and 12, who were inside the house, escaped harm after hiding during the incident.
The accused was arrested when officers responded to a shots-fired call around 2:30 AM local time at a residence on Brook Ivy Court in an unincorporated area of Lawrenceville, a suburb of Atlanta, on Jan. 23. The victims were found inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the children hid in a closet, and the 12-year-old, the son of Kumar and Dogra, called 911, alerting authorities. The children were later placed with other family members.
Investigators described the shooting as domestic in nature. Police said an argument reportedly began between Kumar and his wife at their Atlanta home before the group traveled to the relatives’ residence, where the shooting occurred.
Authorities have not disclosed what led to the dispute, why the group went to the Lawrenceville home, or the precise sequence of events.
Kumar has been charged with four counts each of malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault, along with charges of first-degree and third-degree cruelty to children.
