Jenifer Rajkumar to host women’s celebration in NY

Rajkumar asked the public to join in the event to honor the “extraordinary women of the 38th Assembly District.”

New York State Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar is set to host a Women’s Empowerment Celebration to recognize and honor women across South Queens who have made significant impacts and contributions.

Rajkumar, who represents New York’s 38th Assembly District, took to X to make the announcement of this upcoming event, slated for March 28 at the American Legion in Woodhaven Post, New York.

In her post, Rajkumar asked the public to join in the event to honor the “extraordinary women of the 38th Assembly District” with the aim to uplift them. She wrote,

“A woman with purpose is unstoppable.”

“Join me for our Women’s Empowerment Celebration as we honor the extraordinary women of the 38th Assembly District and uplift the power, brilliance, and leadership of women across South Queens. Together, we are opening the doors of opportunity for all,” she added.

Rajkumar’s announcement also mentioned that lunch will be provided at the event, which will feature awards, dancing, music, and food.

Rajkumar has been known for her advocacy on issues related to gender equality, immigrant rights, and diversity. She made history as the first Indian-American woman elected to the New York State Legislature and has been actively involved in initiatives promoting inclusion and representation.

She also recently announced a free Vaccine Clinic for Dogs and Cats that will take place on March 25, while also providing funding for a free performance by Kiribumba with the Queensboro Dance Festival to bring more cultural programming to Glendale on March 21.
