Jayapal highlighted Goyle's track record, stating, “As Comptroller, he will use New York’s financial power to ensure New Yorkers’ money is used to uplift their needs. It’s time for a new generation of leaders who put our money where our values are and build an economy that works for all of us.”
Responding to the endorsement, Goyle said, “I’m grateful to @PramilaJayapal for her endorsement. Congresswoman Jayapal is a progressive champion. Her support in this campaign means the world. An attorney who has represented immigrants, Goyle has defended those targeted by enforcement actions and highlighted his support for the “End Indian Hate” initiative.
He previously served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011, where he was one of the youngest members elected. He mentioned winning the Democratic nomination for Kansas' 4th Congressional District in 2010.
Goyle is also a co-founder of Indian American Impact, an organization focused on increasing political representation within the community. He said the group was created to provide support he lacked when he first ran for office.
As the state’s chief financial officer, he would focus on fixing what he calls New York’s broken financial system. He said his top priority would be investing state funds within New York rather than across the U.S. and overseas.
Now a New York resident, Goyle is challenging incumbent Tom DiNapoli in the Democratic primary set for June 2026.
