Union Home Minister Amit Shah revealed on Oct. 8 his transition to the Indian-developed Zoho Mail platform.
The shift from Google’s Gmail underscores the government's drive for homegrown tech solutions amid escalating economic frictions with the US.
Posting on X, the prominent Bharatiya Janata Party figure disclosed his updated official contact, amitshah.bjp@zohomail.in, and encouraged followers to revise their directories accordingly.

Though the decision coincides with New Delhi's ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative for technological independence, it was the minister's distinctive farewell phrase that fueled viral discussions across platforms.

The line "Thank you for your kind attention to this matter" evoked comparisons to the bombastic phrasing favored by US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account, amusing netizens and prompting a flurry of memes.
Zoho's co-founder, Sridhar Vembu, promptly celebrated the endorsement as a milestone for the nation's IT sector. "I dedicate this moment to our hard-working engineers who have toiled hard in Zoho for over 20 years. They all stayed in India and worked all these years because they believed. Their faith is vindicated," Vembu shared on X, highlighting the perseverance of his Chennai-based team.
Thank you Sir, for your faith in us

This development builds on actions by fellow cabinet colleague IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who in September declared his adoption of Zoho's productivity applications for ministerial duties.
Multiple departments, such as the Education Ministry, are now embedding Zoho Mail and Zoho Workplace into operations, gradually replacing overseas alternatives including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
The broader embrace of Zoho tools reflects India's accelerated quest for a sovereign digital infrastructure, a strategy amplified by fresh American trade barriers and duties reaching 50 percent on select Indian goods.
