Thousands gather for Bhagavad Gita recitation in Texas
Special prayers were also offered for the continued progress of the United States, India and countries around the world.

Thousands unite for Bhagavad Gita Parayana / Avadhoota Datta Peetham
Thousands of devotees from across the world gathered at the CUTX Event Center, in Texas on Aug. 2 for a collective recitation of all 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita under the guidance of spiritual leader Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda.
The Bhagavad Gita Parayana, was offered as a sacred prayer for global peace, harmony among nations, prosperity for families, compassion for humanity, environmental well-being and the welfare of all living beings.
Addressing the gathering, Sri Sachchidananda described the Bhagavad Gita as a timeless guide that teaches courage, wisdom, compassion, selfless service, responsibility and inner peace.

He invoked the ancient ideal of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” meaning the whole world is one family, and said the values of the Bhagavad Gita transcend national, religious and community boundaries.
“The values of the Bhagavad Gita belong not to one nation, one faith, or one community. They belong to all humanity. Let every home be filled with peace, every heart with wisdom, and every nation with harmony,” Sri Sachchidananda said.
The event also expressed gratitude to the United States for nurturing and embracing the tradition for more than 11 years, allowing people from diverse cultural backgrounds to study and follow the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
Special prayers were also offered for the continued progress of the United States, India and countries around the world.
The gathering concluded with the Vedic prayer, “Lokāḥ Samastāḥ Sukhino Bhavantu,” which expresses the wish that all beings, everywhere, may be happy, peaceful and free.
