Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said he “won’t apologize” for his billionaire status, pointing to his immigrant upbringing as proof that his success was earned, not inherited.

“My opponent will remind you on a daily basis that I am a billionaire,” he said. “I was not born a billionaire… I was not born a millionaire,” he said, referring to his family’s immigrant roots in a campaign speech.
