University of North Carolina at Charlotte honored Sejal Parikh Foxx with the Alumni Campus Employees Milestone Award during the 2025 ACE Awards on Oct. 13.
The award recognized her decade-long service and leadership in advancing school counseling and educational equity.

Presented by the 49er Alumni Campus Employees (ACE) Network, the award celebrates alumni campus employees with 10 or more years of service who exemplify UNC Charlotte’s values and community spirit.
Foxx, professor and chair of the department of counseling in the Cato College of Education, is the founder and director of the Urban School Counseling Collaborative, a nationally recognized initiative supporting doctoral students and counselor educators.
A nationally respected scholar and mentor, she has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and co-authored School Counseling in the 21st Century, 6th edition.
Her interdisciplinary work has secured more than $4.2 million in external funding from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation.
Foxx currently chairs the International Registry of Counsellor Education Programs and previously served as vice chair of the CACREP Board of Directors.
In 2015, she was named Counselor Educator of the Year by the North Carolina School Counselors Association.
Earlier this year, Foxx also received the 2025 Harshini V. de Silva Graduate Mentor Award, recognizing her exceptional guidance to graduate students and commitment to access and equity in education.
Foxx holds a doctor of philosophy in counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a master of education in counselor education and a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of North Florida.
