Ten Indian-origin researchers have been elected as fellows of the American Physical Society (APS) for 2025, an honor that acknowledges exceptional contributions to the advancement of physics. The fellowship, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the field, is awarded to APS members who have made significant original research contributions or rendered distinguished service to science.
According to the APS, “there shall be elected to Fellowship only such Members who have contributed to the advancement of physics by independent, original research or who have rendered some other special service to the cause of the sciences.” The society added that the honor is “a way to commend them for excellence in physics and their service to the physics community.”
