Shankar Vedantam, creator and host of the popular Hidden Brain podcast is set to take the stage at New York City’s The Town Hall on March 25, 2026.

Vedantam launched the podcast ten years ago to answer the question: Are there parts of our minds that are hidden from us? Since then, “Hidden Brain” has helped millions of listeners accomplish their goals, improve their relationships, and develop a deeper understanding of their emotions.

During the Town Hall Live, Vedantam will share seven key insights from the first decade of “Hidden Brain." Organizers say the live experience is designed for both longtime listeners and newcomers, offering an interactive space for audiences to reflect on their own thoughts and behaviors while engaging directly with Vedantam.

A journalist, writer, and science correspondent, Vedantam built a distinguished career at leading institutions, including The Washington Post, where he wrote the “Department of Human Behavior” column, and NPR, where Hidden Brain first launched in 2011 before evolving into an independent platform.

Beyond broadcasting, Vedantam is also an accomplished author. His books, including The Hidden Brain and Useful Delusions, examine how unconscious biases and self-deception shape everything from politics to personal well-being. His work has earned widespread recognition, including an Edward R. Murrow Award, and fellowships in journalism, science, and religion.

Vedantam has written plays, fiction, and nonfiction. His comedy “Tom, Dick and Harriet” was produced by the Brick Playhouse in Philadelphia in 2004. In 2005, he published “The Ghosts of Kashmir," a collection of short stories discussing the divide between India and Pakistan.
