Sant Rajinder Singh inaugurates mediation center in Lynnwood

Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj inaugurates the new Science of Spirituality Meditation Center in Lynnwood, Washington, last month joined by community members and dignitaries for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. / Science of Spirituality
Renowned spiritual leader Sant Rajinder Singh inaugurated a new Science of Spirituality Meditation Center in Lynnwood last month, expanding access to meditation, spiritual education and community programs in the greater Seattle area.
The 8,000-square-foot center, located at 16620 Ash Way about 20 miles north of downtown Seattle, will serve as a permanent site for meditation programs, youth activities, spiritual education and community gatherings. The facility sits on 3.2 acres and includes a meditation hall, classrooms and community spaces.
The inauguration ceremony drew visitors from across North America and other parts of the world. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, unveiling of a commemorative plaque, the planting of a cherry tree by Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj and a tour of the renovated facility.

In his address, the spiritual leader said he hoped the center would provide a place for people of all backgrounds to discover inner peace, develop compassion and experience the benefits of meditation in their daily lives.
“I hope the new center would become a place where people of all backgrounds could discover inner peace, cultivate compassion, and experience the transformative power of meditation in their daily lives,” Sant Rajinder Singh, the spiritual head of Science of Spirituality said in a statement.
India’s Consul General in Seattle, Prakash Gupta, also attended the inauguration. He congratulated the spiritual leader and the local community on the opening of the center, described as the region’s first Science of Spirituality meditation center.
During a four-day visit to the Pacific Northwest, Sant Rajinder Singh also delivered public talks in Seattle that drew nearly 1,000 people. His talks focused on meditation as a practical approach to finding peace amid the demands of modern life.
The Lynnwood center brings the Science of Spirituality’s number of meditation centers across North America to 12. It builds on Science of Spirituality’s existing presence in Washington through its Birch Bay Meditation Center.
Science of Spirituality is an international nonprofit that offers free introductory meditation programs and activities focused on spiritual growth, ethical living, and service to humanity. Its programs are open to people of all faiths and backgrounds.
