Quantum Space, a Maryland-based company developing maneuverable spacecraft for U.S. space defense, has appointed veteran finance executive Adarsh Parekh as its chief financial officer.

Parekh brings more than two decades of experience across the space and technology sectors and will lead Quantum Space's financial strategy as the company scales production of its Ranger spacecraft platform, continues developing its next-generation maneuverable spacecraft and advances its proposed public market listing through a business combination with Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. VI.

Chief executive officer Jim Bridenstine said Parekh's extensive experience in corporate finance, capital markets and strategic transactions within the space industry would reinforce the company's financial foundation as demand for space-based defense capabilities continues to increase.

"Meeting growing demand for space-based defense capabilities requires a strong financial foundation, and Adarsh will lead that work as we advance Ranger toward launch,” Bridenstine said.

Prior to joining Quantum Space, Parekh served as chief financial officer of Sidus Space, where he oversaw the company's financial operations, capital allocation strategy and capital markets activities. Earlier, as CFO of Terran Orbital, he led the company's acquisition by Lockheed Martin. He began his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers before serving as a principal at RRG Capital Management.

In a statement, Parekh said Quantum Space has established significant momentum through its contracts, technology and workforce, adding that he looks forward to strengthening the company's financial foundation to support long-term growth as the Ranger platform advances toward launch.

"Quantum Space has built real momentum, with the contracts, the technology, and the team to disrupt the orbital economy. This is a pivotal moment for the company, and I look forward to working with Jim and the team to build the financial foundation that turns that position into long-term value as we bring Ranger to launch,” Parekh said.

Quantum Space currently holds six contracts and pending proposals with U.S. government agencies, including the U.S. Space Force, the Department of War, DARPA and the Air Force Research Laboratory. Among these is a contract awarded under the Space Force's Andromeda program, an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) vehicle designed to support the deployment of a proliferated constellation of maneuverable, refuelable spacecraft in geostationary orbit.
