Raj sisters take to Chennai streets in Vogue video
The Vogue India video tracks Rhea and Lara Raj’s Chennai visit, blending family roots with city life.

Indian-American singers Rhea Raj and Lara Raj were seen exploring streets of their hometown in India’s Chennai in a video released by Vogue India.
The episode released Jan. 7 forms part of the publication’s ‘On the Road’ series.
The video follows the sisters as they visit temples, local landmarks, and their grandparents’ home in Adyar, while capturing elements of everyday life and regional food. The outing marks a rare opportunity for the siblings to explore the city together as adults, outside family routines.

Introducing the episode, Rhea says, "I don’t think me and [Lara] ever go out just like on a sister date in Chennai.”
The duo are both seen wearing traditionally inspired outfits by Chennai-based designer Ashwin Thiagarajan and traditional Indian accessories. “I’m really excited about these outfits,” Rhea says in the video.
During the tour, the sisters stop at a nearby temple they frequent. “Well, this is just one that we like, we come to this temple all the time because it’s near where we are,” Rhea explains. Food also features prominently, with Lara noting her growing fondness for Karupatti coffee, while both speak about their liking for Kerala cuisine.
The episode ends at their grandparents’ residence in Adyar, where the sisters look through family photographs and discuss traditional Indian makeup styles seen in the images. The video closes with Rhea saying, “Thank you for coming with us around Chennai, our hometown city.”
Produced and directed by Vogue India, the short film situates the visit against the sisters’ ongoing music careers. Lara is the main vocalist of the global pop group KATSEYE, formed through a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, while Rhea continues her solo work, including her 2024 debut album, 'Hunter.'
