An ancient cloth kept in Turin, Italy, and long linked to the burial of Jesus Christ may have connections to India, according to a new DNA study that is reshaping debate over its origins.

The Shroud of Turin, a linen cloth bearing the faint image of a crucified man, has been venerated by many Christians for centuries. First documented in Europe in the 14th century, it remains one of the most studied religious artifacts.
