The 30-second spot features supporters discussing Shah’s policy proposals, including plans to reduce healthcare costs and expand affordable housing.
“I like Dr. Shah’s plan to cap out-of-control health care costs. His housing plan will build homes Mainers can afford,” one supporter says in the advertisement.
The ad also describes Shah as “the only one with a plan to protect us from Donald Trump.”
Shah, who previously served as director of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, references his professional background in the advertisement.
“You know me as a public health leader, but I’m also an attorney and an economist, so I love a good plan,” Shah says in the ad. “People are working hard, but the costs of housing, energy, and health care are crushing us. I’ve delivered results for Maine before, and I’m ready to do it again.”
The advertisement ends with the tagline: “Nirav Shah. A new approach to deliver for Maine.”
Shah’s first campaign advertisement, titled “Driveways,” was released in April and focused on his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. His campaign backed the ad with a six-figure television buy across broadcast and cable markets in Portland and Bangor.
Shah is competing in a Democratic primary field that includes Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, former Senate President Troy Jackson, Hannah Pingree and Angus King III. Maine Gov. Janet Mills is term-limited and cannot seek reelection.
The campaign has also secured endorsements ahead of the June 2026 Democratic primary. Lewiston Mayor Carl Sheline endorsed Shah last month, calling him a leader who had “proven he can deliver” during crises.
According to the campaign, Shah raised more than $1 million within six months of launching his gubernatorial bid, with donations reported from all 16 counties in Maine.
Maine’s gubernatorial election is scheduled for Nov. 3, while the Democratic primary will be held on June 9.
