Netflix has expanded its partnership with comedian and content creator Samay Raina, announcing an all-new comedy special currently in development following the launch of India’s Got Latent Season 2.

The announcement comes after the first episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2 premiered on June 20 in a first-of-its-kind simulcast across Netflix and YouTube. New episodes of the comedy talent show will be released every two weeks.

The season opener featured actor Alia Bhatt, actor Sharvari and comedian Ashish Solanki as guest judges and quickly generated significant online buzz, with several moments from the episode going viral on social media.

Netflix said the collaboration with Raina will also include an exclusive stand-up comedy special, which is currently in development. The streaming platform said the project will showcase Raina’s signature observational humour, storytelling and comedic perspective, with further details to be announced later.

Raina has emerged as one of India’s most prominent comedy creators, building a large digital following through stand-up performances, online content and India’s Got Latent. His recent appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show also drew strong audience interest, further highlighting the demand for his content.

The second season marks the return of India’s Got Latent more than a year after the show was pulled from YouTube following controversy surrounding an episode featuring podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia. The show's comeback on both Netflix and YouTube signals a new chapter for the creator-led comedy format.

Netflix said the move reflects its commitment to offering audiences a diverse range of stories, formats and creative voices across genres and entertainment categories.
